"Digital Technology and 3D Digitalization Experience of Dinosaur Fossils" Workshop (2025)
The Antiquities and Monuments Office and Hong Kong Shue Yan University co-organized a workshop to
demonstrate how 3D scanning technology is used in paleontology. Dr. Ke Pingchuan, Patrick, and Dr. Cai
Shengdan introduced how digital tools are used to study fossils and protect historical heritage. With
guidance from experts, participants had the chance to scan real dinosaur fossils discovered on Port
Island. The workshop provided a fun and educational experience, giving the public a hands-on opportunity
to explore new technology and examine ancient fossils up close.
HKSYU Guided Tram Tour & Workshop (2024)
In December 2024, HKSYU collaborated with Tramplus, S.K.H. St. Michael's Primary School, and
multiple academic departments to host a “Guided Tram Tour and Workshop.” This interdisciplinary
initiative promoted “digital humanities” and “intangible cultural heritage” among students, academics,
and the public. The event successfully attracted participation from the education, culture, and tourism
sectors.
Variations of Sam Kok Mar Tou Yu Lan Festival under the pandemic (2023)

This virtual museum uses multiple media to exhibit the Hungry Ghost Festival in Hong Kong with
reference to a celebration held by a local community during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2021. Traditional
text, image panels, a 3D photogrammetry model, and 360-degree video display are used in the
exhibition.
