HKSYU Sociology Alumni Explore Art Tech and Cultural Heritage

 

 

On April 11, 2026, Hong Kong Shue Yan University (HKSYU) welcomed Sociology alumni back to campus for "The Real and Virtual in Flux: Cheung Chau Jiao Festival Mixed Reality Tour." Ryan Ku Kin Sing (left), Executive Officer at the Innovation and Technology Commission, and Vienne Lau Tsz On (right), Senior Project Officer at the Vocational Development Programme Office, attended the launch led by Professor Selina Ching Chan. The initiative, "Metaversing Intangible Cultural Heritage," utilizes mixed reality to document and promote the Cheung Chau Jiao Festival. Their participation highlighted the vital synergy between sociological inquiry and emerging art technology in preserving Hong Kong’s cultural identity.
