News about the funding results of CRFS announced in early September 2025
In early September 2025, the University Grants Committee of Hong Kong announced the funding results of the Competitive Research Funding Schemes for the Local Self-financing Degree Sector (CRFS) for 2025/26. In total, 3 research proposals submitted by our colleagues under The Faculty Development Scheme (FDS) were funded. The project of Dr. Flora Lau is about how breast cancer (BC) and gynaecological cancer (GC) survivors negotiate and reconstruct selfhood in intimate relationship and the workplace in Hong Kong. The project of Dr. Camellia Ng focuses on the Reportage Movement that reveals Japan's complex Cold War position as a U.S. ally and a hub of socialist artistic innovation. The project of Dr. Cai Shengdan investigates how mobile 3D scanning technology shapes our preservation of memories associated with personally significant spaces, with particular attention to how the embodied act of scanning itself becomes a meaningful mnemonic process.
